Interactive touch screen photo booth where attendees got their freak on by turning themselves into their favorite carnie act. Images were uploaded on our FB page throughout the night of the party.
Mini black and white films of the carnies who were performing live at the event played on a continuous loop throughout the party on LCD monitors dispersed in key locations. Each carnie revealed a snap tag of 2-D code in which attendees were instructed to snap a picture of with their mobile devices. Every 20 minutes through a randomized drawing, winners were notified via text to come claim their prize at the prize booth.
A multi-media guerrilla style game deigned to drive traffic to speakers, help build a solid data base of contacts and deliver a memorable interactive experience from SapientNitro.
HOW IT WORKED: Three carnies who performed at the SapientNitro SXSW party had mysteriously gone missing and there was a huge reward at stake. A macbook air – valued at $1000. To play the game attendees had to register by snapping a pic of the snaptag and text in for sign in confirmation. Attendees who participated in the snaptag game from the night before at the party, were automatically entered to win and received a “late breaking news” video announcement on their mobile device first thing Saturday morning.
“MISSING” Posters & Flyers were handed out with url & a twitter hashtag to encourage SXSW attendees to join the hunt. Videos of the carnies’ last whereabouts were leaked throughout the event. Partnering up with Spyderlynk, creators of the snaptag, enabled us to collect a database of contacts while being able to push clues to attendees mobile devices throughout the event to create a multi-media experience. In addition, a team of tweeters created a streaming feed of clues using #CARNIEHUNT.
Two examples of our fictitious news reports (a total of 6 were produced).
A custom microsite served as home base for all following where and when keynote speakers from SapientNitro were appearing throughout the duration of the interactive festival as well as serving as a RSVP portal for our opening night party.
